About Real Circularity™

Real Circularity™ is the culmination of decades of work by it’s founders and associates.

In 2022, Rachel Sheila Kan (pictured) and Ken Alston through working together with Simon Hedley came together to form a new venture to really bring about change.

Ken Alston has been a leading thought leader and practitioner in Circularity for over three decades. He worked with the originators of Cradle to Cradle on implementing the work into larger businesses and then inside larger corporate businesses through the years.  He has taught countless people who are now at the top of their game in Circularity.  An experienced key note speaker , consultant and recognised authority in the space. Ken is an experienced problem solver who knows how to implement the concept of a sustainable, circular economy in the real world to make and save money. He adds financial, social and environmental value. He works with small, medium-sized & multinational companies, governments & organizations on how to design for a sustainable, circular economy.

Rachel Sheila Kan saw how much of the conversation about Circularity especially in the Fashion Industry was conversation, what was needed was more traction and specialist application. She has worked inside the domain for fashion for 2 decades and worked with micro pioneers  since 2017, iterating in Sustainability & Circular process leading into her work with our umbrella consultancy Circular Earth. Noticing the difficulties in applying this as smaller business she created a collaborative called The Ecosystem Incubator to start to work on these problems in smaller self organising teams of professionals, brands and growers/suppliers. These agile ideas have started to form into promising work, joint ventures and opportunities. She has worked using the regenerative leadership style adopted from the work of Laura Storm and others who have gone before in systems thinking – to create new business systems like The Ecosystem and other structures in our consultancy work.

Real Circularity builds on the collaborative style by bringing the expertise, application and whole systems thinking alongside other practitioners, brands and consultants in circularity and regenerative spaces to work with businesses with our respective focus but with the macro of how that holistically works for the whole system.

We work with Simon Hedley who advises on the financial and business development both inside the business and with clients. Alongside Aya Abdelmeguid, who has been working on her PhD in assessing the potential of the Circular customer base.

This is the genesis of Real Circularity™.
